NoxA self-hosted AI agent that prepares and tests a web developer's work
Nox is the development assistant I built. It keeps track of my projects, prepares and tests changes on a copy of the site, then tells me. The review, the decision and the deployment stay mine.
The problem
Too many projects for one person
Client sites, applications, maintenance: small tasks piled up and slowed down the work that mattered. Every request went through an email, then a note, then a working session to set up by hand.

A workshop that works while I review
Nox gathers all my projects in one interface. Each project has its own conversation with a coding agent, its task list and its test copy. A request becomes a ticket, the ticket becomes a tested change, and I get a notification when it is ready to review.

You never interact with Nox, but you benefit from it. A request sent in the evening can be ready to approve the next morning. Every change is tested on a copy of your site before it is applied, and you have nothing to install to benefit from it.
If your site runs on WordPress, an extension lets you raise a remark directly on the page concerned. It reaches me as a ticket, with the address of the page and the element you pointed at. Your site is told when it has been handled.

Safeguards
Nox never puts a site live on its own: every deployment needs a dry run and then my confirmation. Any destructive Docker action is blocked until I approve it, and the server's critical services are off limits to it. Your databases are never handed to it.

Is an AI building my website?
No. Nox prepares and tests. The design, the technical choices, the review and the deployment remain mine. It is a production tool, like a well-equipped workshop.
Where does my data go?
Your site, its staging copy and its pre-deployment backup stay on my server, in France. To do its work, Nox relies on Claude, Anthropic's model: the code and the text it reads for a task pass through that service, without being used to train the model (the option is switched off on my account). Your databases, your customers and your orders are never sent; if an example is needed, it is anonymised. Access to your staging copy goes through a Cloudflare tunnel I control. Your client area keeps only your email address and an encrypted password.
Do I have to use Nox?
No. You can keep writing to me by email. Nox is mostly for my side of the work. If you would like it, the annotation extension and the client area give you a more direct way to raise a remark and follow what happens to it.
Why build it rather than use an existing tool?
Because no tool tied together my tickets, my staging sites, my server and a coding agent in one place, with my own rules and without sending my data to yet another service. A first version ran from August to September 2026; the current one was rebuilt from scratch on what that version taught me.
